hi, my mates varitronic regulator has packed up , giving 20 +volts at the headlight and blowing bulbs, can he use a wassell /podtronics type regulator? or will the ducati type work?

first try lowering or checking float level, if no good try leaning ,raising needle clip, and lowering main jet, as the spread of jetting is wide on a pwk, i expect the argentinian climate would require leaner settings than uk

i did all of what is written on the miniriders forum as posted earlier and it helped but my float heights made me either too rich or i would run out of fuel at full wack, i them ground off the float stop at the bottom of the float bowl and all is well now

just thought i'd pass on some info, i helped a mate pick up a honda mtx trials bike, don't ask, but i looked over it, it was clean apart from a really rusty inside tank,(been standing in a garage for years) anyway after a bit of research we tried to clean the 9l tank up a bit, we tried as a wild car...

sorry to hear about piston , ouch :| , i put a small hole in bottom of elbow, fair bit of dripping, especially on tickover, lowered main to 110 and ended up lowering clip one air screw 1 3/4 out 35 idle, and sooo much more rideable,... no splutter low down, making a nice mess of flywheel cowl and in...

ok filter off scoot on stand getting spitback on tickover, not any where else will reduce pilot from 38 to 35 to see if it helps , air screw achieves nothing at this time regarding spitback

oh, one more thing, i am running with an agusto system to retard timing, set up seems fine and i have fitted a few and like a lot, but can adjusting a degree either way help reduce spitback also???
