I live local to Glasgow Lambretta. Davie who runs the show is a one man band, and is extremely busy. I've never had any issue with him.
PM me if you'd like me to pay him a visit to help you sort your issues out.

Re: DC System and sip speedo issues
You are simply suffering from low voltage... I dont like optimates... they eventually overcharge the battery.
Change the battery for a new one, run the scooter regularly and you shouldnt have any issues...

Re: 60mm crank
If you dont change the rod length you may have the piston skirt hit the casing, and you need to trim it. Using a 110mm rod with your 60mm crank gives you lots more flexibility with tuning etc

I'm using a drift HD... only trouble with it is wind noise pick up from mic... wee bit of fur elastic banded over it eliminates that though...

Re: Leak down test spark plug
I'd try a new plug an crush the washer down to suit.
Failing that a little grease to try to create a seal...
But if its that bad i'd be looking to get the seat machined flat..

Re: High Revving - air leak - failed gasket
The marks on your piston tell me that you have had heat seize issues or stuck piston rings... you need to take the top end off and check these out...

Re: High Revving - air leak - failed gasket
I would doubt whether a leaking exhaust gasket has caused that much damage.
I would suspect that you have bigger problems elsewhere.
You really need to strip to investigate. Are you in a local club? If not reach out to some of the local guys from the Falkirk Steeple etc to assist you
