Re: 225 TO 230

Best advice is to give Darrell Taylor a message on here, 60 mil crank and a good tune should be around 30 hp and over 20ftlbs depending on exhaust and carb, from low revs and not a high rever either. :-)

Re: Advice about crack in casing

Nothing to worry about, it's just a thin part of the case that won't prove a problem.

Re: Lambretta Boost Port & Cylinder Scavenging

Wot about the angle of the piston crown and the effect it has on every degrees of opening of the boost port and not just a straight flow into the cylinder.

Re: New RB Ceramic 230cc Engine

Its possible with some of the group 6 scooters, over 100mph has been seen more then a few times, and as Eden pointed out the drag on a full frame is quite considerable. I know Stiky's bike engined scooter does high end of 30hp and I think that gets to around 96mph (a real 96mph).

Re: New RB Ceramic 230cc Engine

Most high powered scooters with full bodywork will top out at under 100mph, not because they haven't got enough power but because the shape of the front end won't allow it to, IMO you'd have to have 40+hp to achieve it.

Re: New RB Ceramic 230cc Engine

The one thing to bare in mind is that this kind of power is achieved without the kneed of welding casings and barrels to create bigger transfers or crank case boost ports which seams to be the norm with most tuning jobs these days. Infact the only welding that's done is to RB Barrels. For me working...
