i had thought about seeing at what temp a piston melted with a blow tourch but thought this wouldnt be a realistic experiment as wouldnt the piston be under different conditions in normal use--ie under pressure etc? however we did heat up the egt sensor to 700 degrees ---it was glowing cherry red--s...

what we really need to know is at what temp is damage done/pistons holed etc---does anyone know this?

your so right about the egt if i could afford the damage i would like to push mine to find out but i bottle out at 750 which seems to be considered way too hot, i have done a couple of thousand miles on my rb now but still hear from alot of people including some of the most experienced traders that ...

my rb did 87 on the mad mile in surrey on david blythes gps and was dyno"d at 28 bhp and im not as slim as i once was :oops: ------but---- it has plenty of issues -it runs too hot,without an eye on the egt i am sure i would have melted the piston or somesuch damage.having had a few different en...

i bought one of jimmers rb manifolds as i want to run a remote filter which there isnt room for with an original one,i am in the process of opening it out & will let you know what difference it makes

jimmers makes a really trick rb inlet manifold loads of scope for opening out and also moves the carb away from the panel,uses the mikuni rubber mount system

i am having this problem on the rb(i am sure its been said many times but heat is deff the biggest problem on this kit) was thinking of some kind of scoop under the scoot has anyone got any pics or suggestions on how to do this?
