Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Hi All. Sorry not been on for a while. Further to my new exhaust fitting I started with a 128 jet, wouldn't run smoothly over tickover speed (four-stroking), fitted a 125 and was still obviously too rich so fitted a 123 and it's much better but still suspect a bit too rich as it stutters a bit and f...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Tried the 128 jet, much too rich, 4 stroking and sounding like a tractor at anything over one third/ one half throttle so fitted the 123 (thought the 125 might be a bit rich too) and it runs much better. I still think it's a little on the rich side as it's a bit heavy on the throttle but safer than ...

Re: Drive side oil seal failure symptoms

My GP200 smoked like hell until the gearbox oil ran low, also it had a bit of a funny smell, I assume because of the different type of oil being burned.
Best of luck...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

I've fitted the sports exhaust but as I can't rev it over half throttle yet anyway i'll have to wait to do the plug chop. Thanks for the advice about the jets, i'll buy a 120 and see what happens when i've fitted that after running in. Could you tell me where you bought the Italian made atomiser and...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Thanks for the advice, it's very helpful. I was intending to run in until at least 1000 miles anyway and i'm not too heavy on the throttle (my younger days of thrashing a bike have gone) so shouldn't be too impatient to get it going too soon. The carb that's fitted is a Jetex but with a number SOI-1...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Managed to get a set of oil seals and a gasket set out of them but received no explanation or apology for the ommission of the part that caused the problem....never again... Bike seems to be running ok now, just got to set up the carb as i've also fitted a scootrs sports tuned exhaust to it, will pr...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Well! Thanks for all of your help and suggestions...problem solved at last. Decided to strip engine and replace possible faulty seal but on removing the drive side seal plate found that the engine had been put together WITHOUT the gasket, no wonder the gearbox oil disappeared and I had clouds of smo...

Re: GP 200 Vibration and noise.

Hello again all. Tried all of the above and still had the clouds of smoke, the engine is on my bench mostly stripped but awaiting the crank removal tool. As the engine was only built about 270 miles ago it is all in perfectly clean condition, i'm hoping now that when I get to the bearing retaining p...
