Re: Wide Rear Tyre Conversions... R they any Good?

Look fantastic. I have 130 rear tyres fitted on three bikes, they handle as good/bad as a std bike.
Two things I do though are off-set the rear shock top mount so its still upright after moving engine across, and fit Cosa rim with 100/90 tyre on front.

Re: polini longstroke ?

Can do either way, but I machined casing so I could run wider inlet port.

Re: polini longstroke ?

I put a 60mm P2 crank in my Malossi 166. Now 175cc
3mm longer stroke and 5mm longer rod. Used a 1/4ins pack plate (6.35mm).
Used it for a few years as a mile eater rally going machine, engine is currently in my scootercrosser.

Re: Long Conrods

Im running a 30TMX with CamLam powerjet, (the std Mikuni one didn't work), Its a lot better than the 32 flat slide Delly. Exhaust and gearing go hand in hand. On one off engines I get PM to make me a pipe to suit. Gearing on PTS1 is T5 box with 37t 4th and currently 21/68 primary, but now bottom end...

Re: Motorcycles

Got new job so doing 400 miles a week commuting, 380 of that is motorway/duel carriageway. Used the Rally and a T5 a few times, but would end up killing me or it. Bought a Bandit 600, have never ridden a bike before. Just fitted a gear change indicator, never had 6 to play with and was forgetting wh...

Re: Our latest spec reed-valve crankshaft - (Malossi 221cc)

Ideally, bike on dyno, optimize, power run, split casings, change crank, repeat.
Time consuming.
Wether or not the market is there for top spec reed 210/220s is difficult to say.

Re: Long Conrods

Full circle webs from Taffspeed, rod from MB, crank pin made from a Jack Knight Mini idler gear pin, rod shims are from Mini idler gear, I made the web packers.
Just had a look at LTH site. f@@k me that would have saved a lot of work if they had done it 15 years ago!!

Re: Long Conrods

I'd go 60, wish I had with the TS.
P2 crank is 10mm narrower than T5 so you will have to make a longer pin.

Re: Our latest spec reed-valve crankshaft - (Malossi 221cc)

It was just an idea as we were building engines at work with lighter and lighter flywheel/clutch assemblies and heavier front pulleys. This is car engines btw. I was fully aware of the clutch problems associated with HP4/1kg flywheels on P Range/T5 engines. If the clutch is heavier than the flywheel...
