Re: GT240

Also been running a GT240 for several years, bought the kit as soon as they came on the market. I built the engine for the Euro Lambretta rally in Adria Italy and set out with only 100 miles on it so took it steady ish on the way down (50-55mph) but it didnt miss a beat even when the air temp was cl...

Re: IOW Engine fails

Like every right minded 2 stroke owner I have been reading the introduction of e10 fuel, I avoided it on continental trips and have been using super unleaded since the changeover. However, on a 13k plus mile trip on my GT240 last week I had to fill up with e10 as the forecourts didnt have super. I a...

Re: Tips on rear brake cable

The trouble is that all the quick release cables are 21/2 mm, the original one is 3 mm, so I bought a complete cable from camlam. BGM one is 3mm, LTH is 3mm, QR2 is 3mm, I can only find the MB one at 2.5mm, but either way I don't see what the "trouble" might be. I had problems with one th...

Re: Battery charger

You wont hurt your scooter OR battery using a car charger, thgey are almost all intelegint chargers these days and reduce the chargeing current as the batter nears full charge. It is best practice to didsconnect the positive side of the battery when charging but I seldom do and havn't had any proble...

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

So I am curious what’s the best thing to do when going down a steep long hill (which we have lots of in San Francisco)? Is it best to leave it in gear with the throttle closed? Pull the clutch so it returns to idle while you speed down the hill? Speed down the hill with as much throttle as possible...

I'm sure Anthony did say that you could use points type flywheels with one of his external pickups and CDI, no need for any other form of trigger

Re: R1 shock

Rubber bushes arent available as far as I know but DO NOT use brass bushes as you need some flex , You can get a kit consisting of nylon bushes and nyloc half nuts. You basically only tighten them to about 3-5 ft lb's torque. This is because the R! shock cant handle sideways loads cvaused by flex in...

Re: Checking Torque Settings

However, the fundamental cure for head leakage is to eliminate the weak link. I have not used head gaskets since the early 70's & will not do so again. Interesting. Is that with standard Lambretta cylinders and heads, or "special" ones? Works for any type of head but the important thi...
