Re: my first ever scooter build. cagiva mito 125 engine

Very impressive.
I was only thinking the other day why don't more people use taper bearings when scratch building a scoot.
Can't wait for more posts.

Re: rotary valve inlet timing on PE /PX range vespas

I've got it all written down somewhere Sean. I'll try and remember to dig it out and let you know.
Dan yes I have thought of using M-tech but keep selling them to dyno customers before I get a chance!

Re: rotary valve inlet timing on PE /PX range vespas

I ported my own Polini this way and it seems to do what the theory suggests which is increase bottom to mid range power with little in the way of over rev. This is because I knew the exhaust timing would be relatively low and also I wanted to pull taller gearing. It does 70mph at 6500rpm and has don...

Re: CYCLONE GEARBOX – BATCH 2 RECALL

Sydducket if you paid cash to Stuart for the box it may be why Dean hasn't got your details. You also won't have heard from him if your gearbox is from the first batch as there is no issue with those.
If you send me your details I'll happily get Dean to ring you.

Re: CYCLONE GEARBOX – BATCH 2 RECALL

I am the only other dealer allowed to buy direct from RLC other than Stuart Owen so know some of the details behind this. The spec of the interference fit was changed without Deans knowledge but with the best intentions of improvement by DRT. It didn't work it was a cock up and they have dealt with ...

Try it with a 50 slide Paul. You may need to up the pilot slightly.

Re: Small block tuning or bite the bullet?

You can get TS1 power from a small block but it will be at higher revs. This doesn't mean you can't tour on a small block motor though. The GT,Muggy and certainly a well tuned cast barrel are all capable of touring you just have to be realistic about what your mile-munching speed will be. A well set...

Re: MADSPEED PERFORMANCE LAMBRETTA TUNING S2 No31

Great work. Must admit I didn't get the paint untill the pinstriping but its a great look. Have to agree about using original parts. Saves workshop time in the end because they fit and actually work. I went to clear a garage of an old mate some months ago and could have cried when I asked what happe...
