Kick lever doesn't reach the bumper

Hi guys,
I was trying to fit a new kick lever on my 125 special (bought a spaq one), and the kick doesn't go all the way to the bumper but stops 1cm below the rubber...
And if I change the position it's too high...
hope I'm clear enough (not a native English :).
Does someone has an idea ?

The picture shows the kick bumper without the rubber but I tried with or without and it's the same result

If you move it one spline and the teeth on the kickstart shaft dont touch the splines on first gear it should be ok.If the teeth touch the only way is to remove the side cover and adjust the kickstart ramp.

Thanks for your answer ! I'll try again today and will let you know ;)

Thanks to both of you ! Fitted the kick lever this afternoon, did it the way HxPaul recommended and it worked :).
Only surprise was the fact that when kicking the space between the exhaust and the kick lever is not even half a millimeter ! But it's ok !

Sometimes the kickstart catches the tailpipe and you need to file/cut or grind it until it clears.
