Hi,
There is a top-speed dyno challenge at Mersea this year, with trophies for the best speeds achieved by Lambretta, Vespa and auto. The cost of a run is just £7.
For the first time, there will be a short ride-out available on the Saturday morning. It is 40 miles, or about an hour, so you will be back in good time for the custom show and afternoon games. Assemble by the gate at 10 and depart at 10:30, or start later in the day and follow the route published in the programme.
Talking of the afternoon games, these will be different this year, not least because we are unable get insurance for moving motorised vehicles. Therefore, the famous beer and bananas race will feature over-sized tandem kiddy's push-along scooters as supplied by our sponsor, Jahspeed Scooters. It should be a laugh.
Entry tickets are cheaper if you buy in advance, even if you are arriving by scooter. http://www.mersea.info
