Does anyone know where I can hire a scoot in Italy, specifically Livorno (or Pisa)? A geared one would be nice, but I'm not fussy.
If there's anyone that's willing to let me borrow one, even better!
I'm in Livorno around 19th June. Usually I hire a bicycle while I'm there, but I'd like to explore a bit further afield this year.
Any hints, tips or suggestions welcome.
cheers

A few years ago we hired some Vespa's in Pisa. Can't remember name of place but it was found using a search engine. I think there are a couple in Pisa who do this. You're be struggling to get a geared scooter I think. All that I saw were auto's. Thinking again I'm sure you're find one using the internet.

its not hard to hire a scooter in Italy, check even the bigger hire companies. it will be a modern Auto though. the only place ive found hiring PX's in Italy is Naples, geared scooters are still very popular specifically in Naples, many of the numerous independant scooter shops will do a hire deal for cash if you want to loan one. a reasonable command of italian may be necessary to cut a deal, there isnt a lot of English spoken in the south. an LX 125 is a great compromise but last time we were there we hired a big foot forward , never driven one before but it was all they had and to be honest we had a riot on it. i would have loved a PX but i made best of it. better take your own helmet too, the ones they offered customers were hammerite painted ex italia post brain scoops.
