Re-building set of gp200 forks the top rubber fibre washer ( part that is up either fork leg for which spring and rod sit into)
can I replace the top washer/rod holder with the series 3 top hat white nylon one its just I have a new set?
Next question the springs I bought a while ago think they might be progressive they are tightly coiled at one end and more spaced at the other!!!! I am guessing the tightly coiled end goes up onto the top hat end???
any info appreciated.

It supposedly doesn't matter which way up progressive springs go as long as they both go in the same way. From a personal point of view I prefer to put the tighter windings uppermost.

Doesn't even matter if they're opposite ways.

It's to do with unsprung mass; which in this case is considered as inertia. The less unsprung mass you have, the faster your suspension can react to the conditions. That said, we're not exactly riding race bikes so it's very marginal. We buy springs and dampers without questioning their properties in any really scientific way, so why unsprung mass suddenly becomes critical is beyond me.

More importantly will the white nylon tophats do or do i need GP flater ones???

The white nylon ones around 8-10 mm thick are the correct ones.

I would have thought any type of spring stop (matching pair) would do. That part of the forks is identical to any series three.

I bought a pair of MB springs for my special and i had to use the GP nylon polo type bushes as the springs would.nt fit my top hat bushes, (springs were a tad thicker) so depends what springs you use.
