I picked up a GT160 last week and it came with some side panels that don't fit it.

They are the right length but have the long rectangluar clip that fits into the U shaped bracket on a different frame. (My Black 2000 Bajaj frame for instance )

The GT has similar brackets to P200

The left hand side panel is removeable with a spare wheel stored underneath

Are these panels particular to the GT or which ones should I be looking out for ?

Some models of GT160's have the same side panels as the italian GS160's.
Which is why they're probably not on the bike anymore....
Luckily for you they're available and affordable as repros now!
Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming: "WOW, WHAT A RIDE"

get an old pair of p range panels and drill out the spot welds from the spring , with a little effort they can be welded onto your panels instead of the clip ,ive done this a few times in the past saves time and money looking for panels :D

Left hand one is a bolt on one though
Thinking of selling these 3 side panels ( 1 left and 2 right) and just getting the repro GS ones instead

The left hand side of the frame shouldn't require a bolt-on side panel. It should have the same mounting clip welded as on the right side...

gt panels are similar (but not exactly) to the rally panels with the same fittings than the rally and P range
and the spanish "gs" panels are NOT the same !

So would Italian GS panels fit ? Or do I need specific Spanish GT panels ?

i have an early 150s which has gs160 mk2 panels which has clips both sides , if you wanted clip on panels both sides you would have to weld on a spring hanger onto the frame , am i right in thinking your frame is similar to a 150 super with a toolbox left hand side panel ?

No it has a spring hanger on both sides, similar to a P2
