Engine mounting

Me again whats the best way you lot have mounted your auto engines I've seen loads of ways, would like to keep it so I can keep tank in original place bit like stoffi frame Ive seen

My Auto-Lamy has the same (Stoffi style) mountings, also two of my clubmates have Auto-Lamys with that kind of enginemounts.

I´ve fitted an Piaggio Hexagon 10" engine, one of my mates also and the other one fitted an Piaggio Skipper (10") engine.

You have to fit a swingarm from a Piaggio Zip 50 to the engine and then conect it to the welded enginemount at the frame.

The handling is well and still nearly the same frame/seat height as an original Lambretta.

Of course I do have some pics !

By the way, I didnt us the Piaggio Zip swingarm, instead of that I used a kind of swingarm - stabilisator kit from SIP (It doesn´t vibrate that much, so I can keep my dental fillings in my theeths. ).

All of the Auto Lambrettas in our club are made in the way "Stoffis Garage" used to build their Auto Lamys.

You can either buy this swingarm from SIP:

and weld a piece of metal on it for mounting a anti vibration rubber (which fits in the tube at the mounting),

or make it by yourself ( my swingarm was built by a german guy).

The enginemount itself (the metal stuff welded to the frame) is selfmade (by the same german guy who als made the swingarm) and is the same mounting as Stoffi built them.
