Hello

Just been rebuilding a stator after lowering the pickup height and managed to bust the fibre spacer that sits between the LT coil and the outer metal spacer that the laminates clamp up to.
Does anyone know what the purpose of this part is please? The outer metal spacer on this stator is a brass or copper 'L' shaped one and I've used an aluminium outer spacer in place of the broken fibre one. Just curious if this is a big no-no.

With the original set-up I'm not sure where heat is being transferred from and to where, either intentionally by design or unintentionally.

cheers

OK, terrible thread. I re-read it and started to cry it was so dull.
Still don't understand why a fibre spacer, that must be thermally insulating, is used next to a heatsink though.
I shall rebuild with fibre spacers bought from Scooter Restorations.

cheers
