Try a BR9ES and see how it looks, although I don't think they have a great reputation for longevity, I guess you could try a Champion equivalent to the 9.
I think it would also be useful for me to recheck my timing whilst I'm at it

Cheers Ryskie - I'll try a 9 tomorrow :D

Just rebuilt mine and rejetted etc my plug chops are darker than those running on a b9.It ran absolute crap on an 8 and 7 but really well on a 9, done 600 plus trouble free miles so happy using the 9 starts first kick as well.Mine has been dynoed and plug colour was correct once it was done.I'd suggest before you start messing about adjusting this and that dyno it and let whoever is doing the dyno do the adjusting tbh.
the man don't give a f@@k

put your clip back into its original position m8 & put a tiny washer under the needle clip ok....
this will give it a half position between what you`ve had it

then seen how its runs, & check your plug

I have loads of small washers. They are a bit too big for the recess in a PHBH slide but 5 minutes with a small file will sort it.

If you PM me your address, I'll pop a few in the post.

Been away for a week mate and returned to find an envelope with two washers had arrived! Top man indeed - if you happen to be at Llandudno Rally this year there'll be a pint in for you ;)

Many thanks.
