Yes, if it is a TV175 Series 1 or 2 drum with stud and nut fixing backplate... but these are comparatively rare to the 125/150/Spanish/Indian hubs, which have a different backplate.

So in most cases the answer will be no.

What are you trying toachive by doing this is it because you want to keep the dampers ?
