but its designed to allow the side cover off easily- something is
amiss. It would appear that the engine as a whole is too close to the support. Either the support is bent in for some reason, or, hopefully not, the engine/ frame is bent out.

Ive not had any trouble in the past - sounds like your support arm is pushed in ???

engine mount collapsed?

As above check engine mounts , do you have offset cones in the frame?

On my frame where I know the leg is out of position I can still get the case off .. should be 20cm.from.frame centre line to the hole in L bracket btw.

If the engine is tilted combined with something else that isn't right then it may be a bit harder to get the case off.
