Hi all,
As many have seen the stand mounting holes in the cross member cracks over time. I know there are bolt in plates to go inside the cross member but what are the other solutions?
How about a 2mm plate welded on the outside face of the cross member?

No. A 2mm plate or washer on the outside will not allow the stand to sit at the correct angle, unless you weld something for the stand stop.
What's wrong with fitting a thick plate inside the channel of the main cross member? It works.

I wondered about that.. then what about the aftermarket splash plates? that's a few mm thick and sits behind the stand hooks giving roughly the same thickness does it not?
For the inside yes I can TIG a plate along the top but won't get down the sides very much so for an all round weld i thought of the outside.
