Hi. Just bought a pair of front dampers. Original Italian spec.Marked SCM brand. They are already showing scuffs on bottom half section, just out of box. Is this normal for this to happen due to rubbing? Does not look good. First set of front dampers I've had so don't know what standard to expect.

If it's the ones that I'm thinking of the SCM marked ones are listed as chromed. It ought to polish out I would have thought.

No. They are silver. Just found an old original one up to compare. Showing no scratches or marks. Not happy.

In all likelyhood they will have originated in the far east. It sounds as if they have laid on the paint a bit thin. If you're not happy then change them. I'm sure they will be happy to help.

The new set are both not central and rubbing to one side, compared with original. Just wondered if I have a duff pair or others have had similar problem with this brand.
