Re: Paintwork scratch's easy
I asked about for recommendations. Got only a few. I must be out of touch though when they quoted £2500 just for a two tone paint scheme at a custom paint specialist. Taking parts round car bodywork shops in my area, they scratch their head when looking at all the parts and didn't want to know and w...

Re: Engine Case Cleaning
I took a 200 Italian case to a well known dealer for a full rebuild. They blast cleaned the casing rough as hell. Don,t know what they used. I was well peed off as I never asked for it to be blast cleaned in the first place, as it was in good original condition. Being rough it gets grubby easily. Wo...

Re: Lubricating nylon cable
Regarding the heavy clutch action, what sort of lever are you using? The reason I ask is that some none original levers have the anchor point for the cable too far from the pivot point which has the effect of increasing the pressure required to operate it. I found this out last weekend when I fitte...

Re: Lubricating nylon cable
That's handy. Got a can of this sitting on the shelf. I thought this was the same as wd40 , but reading the can it contains ptfe. PTFE is also known as Teflon I see after a quick Google of the abbreviation.rosscla wrote:Try a silicon based lubricant like gt85

Lubricating nylon cable
Lubricating a nylon outer cable to help with easing a clutch. Read this might help, but mind what lubricant you use to prevent damage to nylon lining. Before nylon cables I used just gearbox oil. Is this ok with the newer nylon outers ? What lubricant is to be avoided. No funny answers please !

Re: Stiff clutch springs
[quote="Lambretta Sash"]I use motor bike springs in many 4 plate clutches from 12 to 30hp + The best bonus is they are light on lever and dont seem to compress over time.

Stiff clutch springs
I'm trying to get clutch to be more lighter on the lever. My top end is a mugello 225 with uprated Camlam springs bought 10 odd years ago, so probably not what they sell now. Four plate clutch. Does the job, but not easy to pull in by lever. Have been told to change lever for dogleg type to help. Ca...
