J50 electronic ignition

Hi all wanting to put electronic ignition on my j50 ( don't say varitronic can't justify spending £300 on ignition system for a j ) some one must have cobbled a system together thanks in advance 😎

Don't mess about with whitworth leave them in the last century just buy a m8 helicoil kit cheap enuff of ebay

Pick a bad bit drill a 1/8 hole see how thick the steel is and weld back up

Sounds like incorrectly adjusted cables slacken off both cables set gearbox to neutral and then gear change to neutral the take out most of free play do you have stickys book it shows you how to do it words and pictures there maybe something on YouTube.

How I bled mine ... I'm thinking by your description that you have hidden master maybe a grimeca one I removed cable from lever on master cyl then bled it by pumping lever on master cyl manually that way you get all the travel you don't get full travel when cable is connected and pumping with handle...

Sounds to me like they've used 1k clear coat. 2k clear over base is as hard as nails when fully dry you should be able to flat 2k with 1200 wet and dry and buff back up to a shine if it's soft with your finger nail somethings wrong. sorry it sounds like bad news
