could be several things. pour it into a clear container & let the sediment settle. check if its gritty or soft (metal or rubber seal). do you have a magnetic drain plug - if so, what's stuck to it? if it were mine i'd be taking the side casing off & having a good look inside

How come the hot weather doesn't affect my p200 Could be his engine is marginal in ideal conditions, so any change like the hot weather immediately makes a difference. so are you saying there isn't enough room to make enough of a difference, or if 43bhp can be acheived with no matching, are the ports already bigger than they need to be - has a margin already been built in? good article

definitely replace it with a flanged/ k-nut & washer once it's off. the castle nut is a tw@7 to tighten, even with the correct tool
