Im already comited to the rd400 rood as its now fitted to the crank I will be using so got to stick with a piston tha will go with a long rod conversion but thanks for the help JIMS

Cheers Diablo and Sion! The piston for both the dt250 and the yz are the same but I dont know if the pistons changed spec over the years of manufacture so will have to find out which year is needed. Im thinking that with an rd400 rod and that piston I may need to look at port timings and packing pla...

I am going to fit an indian crank with rd400 rod over winter and am preparing to get the barrel relined and a new piston. Whats everyones opinion on the best piston to fit regarding performance / balance and reliability! I dont want to move ring pegs or anything like that! I just want a striaght fit...

Good point about the welding and sending vibration somewhere else but instead of tape why dont you use a good bonding glue like sticks like s**t or something????

My panic is over but a couple of things to watch out for! 1) when I posted this the figures where in fahrenheit and looking at your posts suggests you are all using celcius so if anyone else is worried about high figures check how your vapor is set. 2) I used the ring around the plug method only to ...

Well I have been out on it and its running completely different figures to those of you that posted. It currently runs at 220 f which seems a little high considering your all getting around 177 f The scoot is running sweet and has had no problems with many miles built this way so buying a vapor has ...

Cheers storkfoot im gona finish setting it up tonight and the scoot is running sweet so I will take a ride out and see what its showing!
