Re: Anyone know any great CAD designers??

I do cad pretty much daily, but for other purposes. I use Solidworks 2013, and I have done 3d modeling for scooter parts, furniture, utensils, tools and custom stuff in the past. File transfer via emailed pdf's work well for early iterations, then later on as numeric file to eventual machinist direc...

Re: sip speedo

The number i had was around 1300.
To be more accurate, roll out 5-10 wheel distances, and then measure the total distance, and divide by the number of revolutions.
Perhaps your tires are just taller/bigger.

Re: P200 motor build with jammed transmission

Solved. The circlip had come out of the groove and it was pulled out about 5mm from its home, with the bearing. So, I just tapped the bearing in and replaced the circlip. Hopefully, it wont walk out again, I mean, if a circlip is in, its in, right? I spun it a bit to ensure that it is seated in the ...

P200 motor build with jammed transmission

What I have here on my bench is an early p200 motor cases that I have built several times over. It's specs are non auto lube and it has the oil seal for the rear axle on the outside. I am using and efl axle, gears and I just rebuild the Cush drive and the clutch is a fancy sip number with 16 springs...

Re: Rally

I have found that the best way is to work from front to back. If you remove the horn and use that entrance with an outer cable sleeve, you can pass it to the rear by pushing while spinning the cable. Attach the wiring ends to the end of the outer cable and be careful in the way in which you apply th...

Re: Gave this a Spin

Riding a scooter in NYC is a war. The main enemy is the yellow army of taxi's, who shift lanes whenever they like, despite being alongside the driver, police too. The pedestrians are cocky and prefer to cross when they please, not according to the lights, and they do not care about looking, they are...

Re: Beedspeed hydraulic kit

That does look good. If you want to avoid trimming the headset, I have a bracket that fits up to the mirror mounts from underneath. I had mine made in bar stock steel for cheap. I have a dimensioned drawing. It puts the lever right where you would want it. My headset is a sprint V, but the design co...

Re: Vespa electrical issue (v strange what does it mean)???

That last green is your kill wire. When it is in place, AND you use the key, WHEN it is wired correctly, it shuts off your motor. Pulling that green wire out allows the motor to run, regardless of the key or not. The fact that you touched it back together and the motor died and would not restart say...

Re: Gearbox Question?

Instead of the scooterhelp calculator, I used the lambretta specific calculator in excel. This allows a side by side visual comparison. You are right in your guess, higher revs for the same speeds with the 16/46 setup than the 15/46 from the sx200 gears. Not by much, but as you described, 3-4 mph sl...

Re: Scooterotica Special - The Yellow Peril !

That is really nice, I like it alot. I have a similar setup that is not nearly as good looking... 3 things- Not knowing any better, that's how I setup my panel handles, and I like them better in the reverse orientation too. Rolling them on that way made more sense to me. i'd like to see/know what yo...
