Re: ts1 carb
Another vote for the mikuni tmx35 on my ts1, case matched to barrel. I read lots of different setups in several jetting databases, and took a stab at the middle of the numbers. The jetting was spot on, and proven by EGT at the top end. I tried leaner pilots, but went right back to my original guessw...

Re: MPG from a malossi 210 engine?
the vortex comes with a stock carb box cover, with a bored out hole and foam filter in place. I should think that it would keep the rain out, but I guess its up to you if you don't want to use panels. As for getting him, yeah, I use my phone. Once you do get him, watch out, he's loves talking 2 stro...

Re: MPG from a malossi 210 engine?
Here is another, in between answer for performance and economy. This guy has been flying quietly below the radar for some time, he makes great products, and is a mad scientist when it comes to tinkering on his ideas. http://www.hotrodscooters.com/ His vortex carb is a modification to the standard 24...

Re: TS1 Options to making a hole in the panel?
What if you could use a pancake style filter? I picture it sitting right on the carb mouth, so that its top surface was just inside the panel. The sq/in area of the circumference of a good sized one should be adequate for breathing, right? I have just looked at K&N, they have a wide selection. H...

Re: TMX35 needle kufuffle
a few tips, as I curse at these assemblies as well. 1 - I clipped the length of the spring, about 25% less. It makes compressing it that much easier, and I didn't see the need for so much force on returning it to the closed throttle position. 2 - I have at times, given up on the carb end connection,...

Re: Peak EGT Temperatures
Am I wrong in thinking that the time it takes for the cylinder head temp to rise is alot slower than the change in temperature of the exhaust gases? I have always used an egt to check on proper jetting at various throttle and speed settings, the reponse rate is very quick, even blipping the throttle...

Re: TS1 gearbox help
Have you tried the gearbox visualizer spreadsheet?
I am using Li150 and 16/47, 81 link chain, for a 4.99 4th gear ratio.
In the end though, it depends on your type of riding, speed versus quickness, lower end torque/how high your rpms want to be at what speeds.

Re: M Tech or Augusta.................. Discuss
Here's one difference between them: Agusto has a fixed degree shift, matched to the rpm. Hence them being named 6000/8000. The M tech has 16 points of adjustability per revs, and also the amount of degree shift. I have one fitted up, but not yet kicked over. I will say it came with nice instructions...

Re: (need) Lambretta Technical drawings (Vector)
That looks pricey, so I counter with one of these: http://www.dirdim.com/prod_digitizers.htm less bulky, more accurate, but again, cost. The faro arms are industry standard these days. No human error on reading calipers, its all digital input. I wish we had one at work. I do think that these will be...

Re: (need) Lambretta Technical drawings (Vector)
Its clear that the information is already in the public domain, the same images of the technical drawings are widely available. I completely understand the stance on the issue from the owner's POV. To me, the originals are a piece of artwork, there is only one original, valuable and prescious. But, ...
